I am a School Instructor's Co-ordinator for CARE at Bahraich, UP. Well i have come across a peculiar problem. I have few students who just say that i can not write n despite many attempts to motivate them to write on paper, sand, ground, by colours, by paper cuttings, he just refuses to write. Need help from more experienced teacher's to guide me to solve this problem n motivate such students to participate in class n write.
So much is being made in very self righteous and self-congratulatory tone of Times of India's Teach India campaign. Now that aamir khan has also joined the effort there is this great (though misplaced ) feel good factor. While the spirit and motives behind Teach India is fine, we need to recognize that volunteerism will hardly help in addressing the enormity of the crisis of learning that afflicts India. Education and teaching are intense jobs, emotionally consuming, intellectually demanding but of course can provide joy and stimulation like no other. read more

Unfortunately many teachers feels that teaching as a profession is stagnating and monotonous. I feel it is absolutely wrong. True that everytime we teach same curriculum and same subjects, but what about the change in the students. An entire set of NEW MINDS we interact every year. In fact we are in most innovative profession as we have to develop and grow children / students as independent members of this society. I feel very uncomfortable when teachers, being noble creators of a personality hold this opinion.
Throughout India children are taught English because it is a necessity. But when it comes to teaching them Literature as a component along with learning the language, the syllabus makers always insist on including Shakespeare and long novels that are classics in the syllabus for General English's Literature component.. read more
