With the world becoming a smaller place to live in, literally with no boundaries, the need for one language which is functional all over and everywhere is becoming more and more urgent. Also because of the revolution in the world of online communication makes the need to socialize in one language more compelling. The attempts of us humans all over the world to learn English is truly commendable. People are acquiring a general ability to bridge those gaps between each other. read more

I cannot see states like Karnataka following suit anytime soon, but would not be surprised if a state like Bihar suddenly decided that this is indeed a good strategy!

I want to revive this book and this writer. All I can say is he matters.

Speaking of his first novel Last Train to Innocence, he says, "It was largely autobiographical. It wasn't a novel, it was meant to be snippets of my childhood mainly for Shahana (author's note: his daughter). I wanted her to know about her grandparents and my childhood in Dehradun.
