You have just logged in using the invitation you were sent or through the Sign in box on the top right of the educatorslog.in main page, and been directed to the CONNECT area of the site. So, what next?
Well, there is much you can do as a member of the educatorslog.in community. You may want to consider any of the following as your first steps into this community portal -
- Read the FAQ by clicking the link at the bottom of the page
- Read some of the elogs (posts) in the elogs tab.
- Post comments by clicking on the comments icon below the elog post
- If you come across an article or a news item that you think is worth sharing with the Indian educator community, you could create an elog that has a link to this article. You could simply add a few lines of your own in the elog.
- If you maintain a blog where you post regularly, you can just provide a link to your article as mentioned above
- If you are ready to post some fresh thoughts, click on the 'Submit an elog' button and go ahead! [Note that you could use the "blog this" icon and post it simultaneously to any other personal blog as well (we currently only support Blogger blogs for this action).]
- Perhaps you've just come across a fabulous book or movie or CD that could be used by other educators? How about posting a 'Review' by selected the Review Topic in the 'Submit an elog' form.
- It's never too early to create or join a group for focused discussions with a smaller group!
- Check out existing groups by clicking on the groups tab.
- You could join an existing group by clicking on the group name and clicking on the "Join Group" icon below the group description
- If you are a teacher and would like to create a group for your class or students, so that you can all 'blog' in a shared space or discuss things online, you may want to consider creating a private group and invite your students via email.
- If you are interested in having discussions around a specific area of education e.g. Design Education, you might want to be the one to create this 'public' group for anyone interested in Design Education to participate in.
- If you would like to share what you consider a Resource that other educators could use or benefit from knowing about, head on to the SHARE section by clicking on the big blue Share button on top, and click the 'Share a Resource' button on the Share page.
- In the SHARE section, you could-
- Browse through resources that have already been shared (to browse by subject or grade, click on the links on the left)
- Comment on a resource, if you have used it or have an opinion about it
- Click on the questions tab to see specific questions that have been posed by teachers or parents. Maybe you have an answer to a question? Click on the Answer icon below the question to post an answer.
- If you have a specific question of your own about some education issue - click on the 'Ask a question' button and submit it.
- Search for resources using appropriate keywords using the Search tab.
- Please note that any point in the site, you may move between CONNECT , SHARE and GROW (although GROW is still under development), by clicking on the buttons on top.
- You could also, at any time, use the links on the top right and bottom of the pages to view or change your Settings, read the FAQ or Help pages, Sign In or Out.
