... and Belong as an educator, in a community of educators

Educatorslog.in is an online community blog (or simply put, a forum) designed to give educators a space to CONNECT, SHARE & GROW – Connect with other educators and those interested in education in India, Share resources that are contextually relevant to teachers and teaching in India, & Grow – through professional development programs that cater to the needs of Indian educators.

The idea of a “community”, even a “virtual community”, is a powerful one. Educatorslog.in hopes to help build such a community (or several communities based on interests within the broad field of education) among those passionate about, or involved in, or simply concerned about, education in India. Find the support, professional camaraderie and voice that belonging to a “community” affords - all here at Educatorslog.in.

There are 3 distinct spaces here – to Connect, Share and Grow, which support different functions and actions within Educatorslog.in.

Connect is your space to express your views/suggestions/ questions/opinions on any and every issue related to education in our country, and participate in dialogue and discussions with others. In the true spirit of a community, this is where you may also ask for and provide help or advice to others working towards educating millions of children, youth and adults in India. You may also post or read about information regarding events such as conferences or seminars, as well as reviews of educational products and services.

Share is your space to contribute information regarding any resource that you may have come across that could be of use or help to others in their teaching in India. In the thousands of such resource repositories on the Internet for teachers, you would be hard pressed to find one has been created by a community of Indian teachers, for Indian teachers, and of resources created by Indian teachers. There is also space here to ask for help with finding specific resources that others in the community may be able to help out with. Educatorslog.in hopes to make teaching a less isolated activity by providing a means of sharing, and in doing so helping build a repository of information and resources that Indian teachers may browse with ease (through our tagging features) and use.

Grow is your space in educatorslog.in to learn about and from best practices in the country through the Spotlight section which showcases examplary teaching practice in the country. Here you can also find out about new programs, online and otherwise, are being offered to help in-service teachers improve their teaching practice and grow as professionals, and pre-service teachers be prepared for the challenges of teaching in the 21st century.
