Its all about Creativity and Innovativeness, Dear Teachers !!

I chanced upon this video, and was taken to the content matter, which talked about how much of change we as teachers can bring in the lives of children by being creative in our teaching practices, as well as encouraging it among the younger generation. Teachers need to think how much of creativity we are nourishing among children.It directly relates to the atmosphere in school. Water and other matters

Education in Kerala - 2

If one was to concentrate on the schools in Kerala , it would be seen that the appreciated forms of schooling or the commonly attended board exams are the CBSE, the SSLC + 2 and the ICSE/ISC. Boards like Cambridge or IB are really not in. Whether this is because of a more powerful anti - colonial attitude or anti - West attitude in the State than in other parts of India is debatable. While highly politically conscious, the Keralite is at the same time savvy enough to know the value of education in English. read more

Education in Kerala -1

I was in Kerala for my holidays, travelling primarily between four places - Trivandrum, Alwaye, Angamaly, and Quilon. While there I had time to reflect on the education scene down south in God's own country. This first post will deal with some generalities. Education in Kerala is a highly prized thing. So much so that Ph.D's are becoming dime a dozen! - and three of my friends have gone on to higher honours out there; two got a post-doc in Literature and Maths respectively and one a D Sc. from Netherlands. read more
